For more than 15 years we have operated under an official travel license and follow the requirements of the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority, so your bookings are protected and handled by a reliable company.

History

The Story of Lapland Welcome: Local Expertise Since 1996

Lapland Welcome began in 1996 when Veli, a local nature-lover, returned home after his studies and decided to build a company rooted in real Arctic expertise. What started as one man guiding guests into his own backyard grew into a respected operator known for small groups, safety and personal stories.

Over the years the company expanded from Rovaniemi toward Kemi, Kätkävaara, Saariselkä and Inari, always keeping the same mission, to help visitors discover Lapland with local guides who truly know the land.

In November 2025 Lapland Welcome was acquired by well-known tourism professionals based in Finnish Lapland, bringing fresh investment, destination expertise and a long-term commitment to developing high-quality Arctic experiences.

Today the company remains independent, local and focused on the same passion, helping guests experience Lapland in a personal way.

We believe that Arctic environments deserve care. We avoid disturbance, follow safety rules, and support local services. The goal is simple, to leave nature as we found it so others can enjoy it too.

Quality without shortcuts.
Training, safety and first-aid.

We operate with licensed guides, proper safety checks and equipment adapted to Arctic conditions. Guests should feel secure at all times, from transportation to clothing and on-site briefing.

All our guides receive internal training to ensure that every tour follows the same standards. They also hold valid first-aid certification, so guests are always accompanied by someone prepared for emergencies and outdoor conditions.
